It is 2008. 145 years after the Emancipation Proclamation, 143 years after the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified and 43 years after the Voting Rights Act was enacted. Today, we’re faced with nooses on college professors’ doors, nooses in police station restrooms and nooses hanging in public places. Everyday, African American men are pulled over for “driving while Black” or because they “fit the description….”. What’s changed?
MAAFA… THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES

This multimedia theatre piece explores the dreams, fears, hopes and triumphs of African men across the Diaspora through time, and features an all male cast, from age 8 through 70, singing, dancing and “tellin’ our stories… our lives.”
